Lisa needed another pair of shoes? Why not go to Buda Hill and look around there and then go to the West End Mall and look for shoes.
Walk to Blaha Luiza ter, take M2 Metro to Moszkva ter, officially renamed Snell Kalmanter ter, but no signs say that. Climb hill outside the station and look for small buses with Disz ter on them, can't find busses, walk back down hill and ask for directions, buy post cards. Walk back up hill and find buses in plain site. Ride bus to Disz ter. Look for shoe shops, there are none, find entrance to cave under castle and enter Labyrinth of Buda Castle, this was wild. Great historical significance, used for thousands of years and protected Buda residents from the WWII bombs, sorry.
Also found Matthias Church, beautiful, met a couple from California that had spent many years in Pennsylvania, we took their picture and they took ours. Thanks.
I could write for hours about some of the sites we visit but you will need to read up on the ones you are interested in, or ask my Dad.
Back on little bus to Metro. This bus was indeed tiny and the explaination is that there are so many caves under Buda hill a light weight bus is required to avoid additional strain on the cave walls. This was the only public transportation vehicle we have ridden on that used fossil fuel, diesel, all the others have been electric.
Got on good old #4 Tram and rode to Nyugati Train station and the home of the West Side Mall. found shoe stores but no shoes. Took picture of mall.
Left mall, started walking toward the flat, found more shoe stores and finally found shoes. Walked home.
The news of the Joplin, MO. tornado reached Budapest. A person I was visiting with on the street asked about it and inquired how far Joplin was from Philadelphia.
Big day tomorrow.
